PIP after DLA

Hi
I have just applied on my ASD teens behalf for PIP after they have received low rate DLA for several years. Are they likely to get the same rate or does it go up given they are potentially moving into a potential employment age (unlikely due to anxiety) or does it stay the same given they might also stay on in education?
Thanks!

PIP is nothing to do with work or education. The eligibility criteria for PIP are different to DLA, so some receive the same rate, others don’t and either receive more or less. You can see the criteria here. For the standard rate daily living component, you need 8 points on the daily living activities and 12 points for enhanced. Similarly, for the standard rate mobility component, you need 8 points on the mobility activities and 12 points for enhanced.

The daily living component of PIP only has 2 rates (standard and enhanced) compared to the 3 rates of DLA’s care component (low, mid, high). The mid rate care component of DLA is paid at the same rate as standard daily living PIP component. The high rate care component of DLA is paid at the same rate as the enhanced daily living PIP component.
