Would love some pointers about how to cope in the evenings when the effect of stimulant wears off

DD16 recently started xaggitin xl 36mg and so far is coping OK.
She says the meds are helping with focus.
However, she feels when she is back from school around 4.00 she is tired and doesn't have the motivation to work.
She is in y12 and terribly behind so does want to be able to work for a few hours in the evening.
I am aware that too high a dose may not be ideal and it could also affect sleep.
Would love to know if others teens have any strategies of managing homework and revision.
Her mental health isn't in the best place yet so I am not pushing her but she is feeling the pressure of school (when she is there)

Xx

Some take a small top up dose later in the day for this reason.

@BrumToTheRescue
Thanks. I will discuss with her doctor but the review isn't for a while yet.

What’s your thoughts on giving children adhd meds? My dd is about to go to high school. Recently she’s been struggling with her feelings and processing these. Last night she was pacing and has not been sleeping. We’re seeing cahms next week to discuss meds. I’m worried about quashing her quirky personality but she is becoming incredibly erratic and “wishing she didn’t feel this way” which is worrying us. What is your experience? Does the meds help or hinder?

For us, it was a choice between extremely dysregulated thoughts versus the side effects.
Remember, every person's reaction to medication is very different.
You won't know till you try.
