Applying for PIP ADHD/GAD DS about to go to uni

Hi. I am interested in hearing anyone's thoughts about applying for PIP for kids who are about to to go uni. My DS has an ADHD diagnosis along with generalised anxiety, panic attack disorder, PMDD and reflux. We haven't applied before but am wondering if worth it. While she has been at home I deal with most of the issues as I can see what's coming. But going to uni I think her conditions will affect her living (burning food as getting distracted so has to preprepare which means wastage, forgetting to eat regularly), shocking time blindness so will be late for lectures all the time without someone to shovel her out the door etc. she has therapy once a week and medication (not ADHD but SSRIs and anxiety meds). I am just wondering if it is likely to be a no hoper and whether anyone has any thoughts/ advice! Thanks in advance.

Some university students are eligible for PIP. DD, or you if she needs an appointee, have nothing to lose by applying.

DD should also look at DSA.

Definitely have a look at DSA too. DS has a weekly mentor which helps to try and keep him on track.

The social worker has overstepped here.

It is unlikely (I won’t say never, but I have never heard of that happening. Although I have heard of fathers asking) the money will be split in that way. I do know families where motability cars move with the child, but that doesn’t apply to you.

You probably spend far more on DSs’ needs than the DLA and PIP received. Just in case anyone (professional, not ex) questions how you are using the money it could help for you to make a list of all disability related expenditure.

Wrong thread.

They may even be able to get catered accommodation for the price of self-catered if they're going to struggle buying and preparing food.
