Support after Uni

Our DD 23 is ADHD/ASD and currently in her second year at Uni. It’s been a struggle getting her there but she eventually found a course locally. She’s finding the second year challenging but doable, but we’re concerned she won’t get through the last year. She finds it difficult to work with other people and says she doesn’t like a lot of people. We worry how she’ll get through an interview let alone keep a job.

We’ll support her of course but wonder would she be entitled to any benefits should she not be able to work in the future? She’s currently receiving a small amount of PIP.

If DD can’t work she could claim UC and submit fit notes. She will then have a work capability assessment to determine if she is fit for work, has limited capability for work (LCW) or limited capability for work and work related activity (LCWRA).
