ADHD exam condition adjustments

My son is in Year 10, will be taking his GCSE exams in the summer of 2025.

He has combined type ADHD, so in attention and hyperactivity. He has a formal diagnosis and his school make adjustments currently which enable him to sit exams in a room on his own. This helps him with less distractions and means he can chatter to himself which helps him think.

His most recent test results have been impacted significantly by the fact he rushes. He has always rushed school work. Since reception when he was 4!! We have tried so many strategies to try and encourage him to take his time, check his answers, read the question, but to no avail.

I suspect his instinct to rush is quite in grained.

My question - does anyone know of a type of adjustment that would help? Specifically with rushing tests and exams.

I suspect there isn't one, but I am hoping.

Thanks 🫶🏻

Would rest breaks help?
