Plus being sent to isolation in a small room to work without breaks all day.

Applying for a new school didn't work as they said he was a 'burden on their resources' and the EHCP wasn't fair on them.

He was recently physically kicked on the ground by a group of boys, the head of year 'investigated' and wrote stating that the kids said it was a 'joke.'

Help please 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

You should request an early review of the EHCP. On their website, IPSEA has a model letter you can use.

The bar for the LA to be able to prove the attendance of the child or young person would be incompatible with the efficient use of resources is far higher than many LAs admit. Did you appeal?

Have you formally complained about the handling of DS being assaulted? You could speak to the police.

He is being punished for his disability. Detentions and being in isolation all day are going to impact his mental health. Not being able to move around will make his ADHD symptoms worse. How is the school actually supporting him? What training have teachers had? What is he getting the detentions for? Is he on medication? Might he need a higher dose of medication/ start medication?

Physical assault is threatening and dangerous and could be a hate crime (disability is a protected characteristic). Check the school's anti-bullying, behaviour management and EDI policies. Does the school follow them?

Make a written complaint to the school and ask them to respond in writing so you have proof of what is going on. Mention what the police advised.

Start writing a daily log so you document what is happening: was he in class or in isolation/ did he get a detention/ if yes, what for/ did other children tease or attack him/ what support was offered etc.
