Should I complain

My daughter (13) has been unable to attend school for 2 years and is undiagnosed autistic. The school and I have tried everything to reintegrate her back, but the whole environment is just too overwhelming for her. The school pays for my daughter to see a therapist at the premises, but recently she started to show reluctance for that aswell. She eventually told me that during their last session she told the therapist that she's unable to swallow tablets, that she has to take liquid paracetamol (calpol), and he laughed at her, saying she can't live her life like that. She's 13! I wondered if anyone else with autism has problems swallowing tablets?

Either way, my daughter has lost trust and respect for the therapist because he laughed at her, which I think is valid. Or are we overreacting?

I would try and find out exactly what was said and follow up.

I think asking her exactly what happened would be a start. My DD (currently on the Pathway) will say she's been shouted at or laughed at when you were in the room and know that's not the case. She has terrible difficulty interrupting intention and facial expressions. For instance of in concentration on a task she thinks I'm cross with her as my face is serious.

Is she aware that she may have ASD and understands that she may struggle with other peoples intentions?

Your dd is UNdiagnosed autistic? If that’s correct, and you believe she’s autistic, is she on the diagnostic pathway?
