DD suffering with anxiety, and I’m wondering about ASD as I know girls can present very differently. I’d certainly like to discount it if it’s not.
Can you tell me the signs you saw ? And any recommendations for testing in or near the NW ?

I have a younger teen ds but I’m a woman diagnosed with ASD later in life and these were my more obvious ‘symptoms’ as
a teen:
School refusal
’Picky eating’
Severe anxiety and self harm
Social anxiety and shyness
Avoidance of large gatherings like parties
Obsessive interest (horror films in my late teens)
Extreme reaction to loud sounds (being extremely startled, hands over ears)
Wearing baggy clothes (touch sensory issues)
Only having a couple of friends

@Whatsthepoint1234 Thanks for your reply, I can certainly tick some of your presentations.
Can I ask how you got diagnosed, was it via MH services ?

@DustyLee123 in our area we have an ‘autism team’ that does assessments. Ds got his diagnosis through the paediatricians though.

We've been through the GP for our teen girl and she's waiting to see the Paed. We've already been told though that she's showing significant ASD traits with queries regarding ADHD, ARFID, communication difficulties and dyslexia.
