We requested an assessment for autism for our teen early this year. Knowing how long we might wait (2+ years in our area), we went ahead a few months later and got a private assessment.
Now that we’ve completed their process, and have a diagnosis, do we stay on the Camhs list or ask to be removed? I’d obviously like to free up the space for others, but I’d be interested to know if anyone else’s experience showed there was a reason to stay in the system?
Our teen is nearly finished school (2 yrs left), and we have full confidence in the recommendations coming from the private assessment. What else might Camhs offer?
