DD behaviour

19 year old DD

Background:-

Very academic and works ridiculously hard at anything related to this.

Mirrors behaviours ( currently those of her boyfriend).

She seems not genuine when a situation arises that requires sympathy or empathy.

Can be very uncaring. Won’t admit if she’s in the wrong and quick to blame others. Very focused on getting what she wants out of a situation.

Always been quiet.

Struggled with friendships.

As time goes on, the not very caring side is becoming really prominent and hurtful. I feel like a terrible Mom for even typing this down. I am worried about her.

Never been diagnosed and I don’t know where to start……

The first thing would be, does DD want to pursue an assessment?

@OvertakenByLego Honestly not discussed it yet. I am pretty confident based on her reactions to most things, she will be very annoyed and hurt with me suggesting this.

She has had some counselling for anxiety which we paid for and the counsellor thought that she had some sort of PTSD from a friendship she had in High School.

If DD doesn’t want to pursue an assessment she won’t be referred.

@OvertakenByLego Yes. Just not sure how or it to approach the subject.
