Hi
Does anyone else's asd young person shut down in this extreme heat, we have been dreading the heat this year, we spent a fortune on a new air cooler for his room, but it's not working, he has panic attacks about the heat then can't breathe, he forgets to drink so dehydration is a problem, we are having to take time off work in shifts to be at home and manage him.
Any tips. X

Drink lots of water and intake cold snacks like ice lollies. If he has a shower I’ve heard that have a lukewarm shower is actually better than a freezing cold one to stay cool as when you get out you’ll be colder. Maybe freeze a water bottle and tell him to keep it close by? Avoid stuffy dark spaces and instead stay in open spaces with air circulating if possible. Also wear loose fitted clothing
