Apps for self management?

The GP has suggested that my DD keeps a diary of eating / drinking / sleep / periods / symptoms etc to try and narrow down some medical issues that are perplexing the GP. She has ASD and probably ADHD (mid assessment). Tried a paper diary but she forgets to write in it unless I remind her every day. Doesn't remember to look at her phone much.. doesn't notice the vibration alerts on her watch! Any suggestions?

I am an adult with adhd and I struggle. Ppl have gone on at me for keeping a diary for years and now it's become a "thing" and the idea of it makes me sick. Hopefully you can set the habit.

I know I'm probably a rubbish responder but hoping to bump the post.

I use a free app called Bowelle. It's for IBS management and you can track mood, food, drink, periods, stress and customise it with other things. But you have to go in every day and it's a hard habit.

You could try a Fitbit type thing. That will track sleep so it's one less thing to remember and then you can add other stuff into the app.

But with all these apps it's "out of sight out of mind". And I forget, as an adult.

The only way I remember anything at the moment is if it's up on the wall. You could have a week/4 week chalk pen board or decal or whiteboard and then if it's big and it's somewhere you see it, it's hard to forget.

I have a blackboard wall sticker in my kitchen and bought colour pens. I actually like the sensory experience of writing up there. It's ridiculous but it still gives me a slight thrill like when I was in primary school and the teacher hands you the chalk.

Anyway it's just an idea. Not quite the app you asked for!

The other thing I like for me and my daughter is post it notes. I stick up all the tasks and then when we do it we put it in a pot. Satisfying. But you could get some printed\personalised with date and the list of things to track. When the week is complete take a photo?

It's got to be fun not just a chore. So you could also add in reward system. A 50p in the pot each day all the tasks done and after x length of time a treat that appeals to her. Manicure, trip to go ape, go for ice cream sundae etc etc

We have a whiteboard by the front door.. and blackboards in her room. She has a smartwatch - sometimes she remembers to charge it and put in back on afterwards 😁 She has a diary to note any difficulties during lessons at school but by the time I remind her to fill it in after school she has forgotten how the morning lessons went or what happened! Will have a look at the app suggested thank you.

Good luck. It's not an easy task. I feel for you x
