I've posted about my DD a few times. She's currently under Community Paediatrics, after years of trying. They've already said that they think she has ASD traits and want her testing for ADHD and Dyslexia and have sent me some info on ARFID. I also suspect she has PDA as well.

Does it have to this bloody hard though? Usually I'm ok but today I'm really struggling.

She's about to start her GCSES and is unlikely to pass.

Plus she seems to deliberately pushing my buttons. Normally I don't react and try to keep everything friendly but she's used every trick in the book to get a reaction this afternoon, then painted herself out to be the victim when I've got grumpy.

We're on a roundabout trying to get get some anti anxiety meds, but have finally got an appointment with the GP again tomorrow. The GP has said that DD needs them but she had to refer to CAHMS who have refused to prescribe.

Hopefully the GP will prescribe them tomorrow and she may or may not decide to take them.

Yesterday DD left an Easter Egg where the DDog could get at it, so we're lucky DDog is still with us. I'm beyond cross with DD but can't show how I feel as her reaction would be so extreme. Perhaps that's why I don't feel like I'm coping today?

I know some MNers have it worse but I just wanted to rant about how hard I was finding it today.

I’m sorry things are so tough right now. Are you managing to look after yourself? Some fund counselling helps. Scope offer mentoring to parents recently diagnosed or undergoing assessment, if you think that would help its worth considering.

Does DD have an EHCP?

You could ask for a referral to a specialist ARFID clinic such as at Maudsley or GOSH.

Thanks so much for replying Floating. I've been having Counselling but it's been a bit crap if I'm honest. She has no experience of any of the issues that's going on in my life and just keeps telling me to deep breathe or do meditation, both of which I do already.

I didn't know about Scope so I'll look into that, thank you.

It's not really been a shock, I've been asking various SENCOs and the GP fir help for the past 9 years.

No she doesn't have an ECHP.

And I didn't know that there were specialist ARFID clinics. Do you know if there are any further North?

You can apply for an EHCNA yourself. On their website IPSEA have a model letter you can use.

I am not aware of anywhere other than Maudsley and GOSH who have specialists in ARFID, sorry.

We went to the GO yesterday who says she can't refer to an ARFID clinic but has referred her to a Dietitian.

DD wants to go to a clover in another town, which is in another County. Can you apply for an ECHP in one county and it be valid in another?

You request an EHCNA from the LA you live in, but you can still attend a placement out of your LA.
