DD has severe anxiety and is ND. She had a long wait (and a lot of wrangling) to get as far as CAMHS. A hospital mental health team prescribed Prozac which has helped, has have the 7 CAMHS sessions she's had so far so I was feeling a bit more upbeat about her but she got back from her appointment yesterday saying the next session in her last.

It seems too early to me. She is making progress but she's not where she needs to be (does not come out of room, does not eat with us) and I am worried this early and it's so frustrating when she is getting help that works to have it terminated so early. It seems decided by the number of sessions rather than her needs.
I also have no idea who will be responsible for her medication if she's discharged. No-one has discussed any of it with us as her parents.

Does anyone have any advice about how to proceed? I've put a call into CAMHS but previous experience tells me it is unlikely they'll call back. I am so worried she'll slide backwards and she was in such a bad place last year.

Does DD have an EHCP? If so, are MH therapies included in F? They should be and therefore must be provided even if the LA have to commission independent provision. If DD doesn’t have an EHCP you should request an EHCNA.

When is DD 18?

You, or DD, can complain.

Thanks - her ND assessment is quite recent and she didn't meet the threshold for an autism diagnosis (over threshold in two of the three categories so no diagnosis) so she doesn't have an EHCP but it is a good thought. I'll look into that now.
She turns 18 in the autumn - so it's been tricky to get anyone to take her on as she'll have to move to adult services relatively soon (of course, when we started she wasn't even 17 but the wheels move slowly and people seem very keen to avoid engaging with anyone who is or about to be or at risk of being 17, which has been very frustrating. I can't believe there isn't an agreement to allow 17 year olds to complete therapy before moving to adult services - at least in some circs where the therapy isn't expected to take years).

You don’t need a diagnosis for an EHCP so it’s worth requesting an EHCNA. An EHCP can secure support that wouldn’t otherwise be available, for longer and without the need to sit on the normal waiting lists.

Thanks - I'll explore that option with the school.
