Hi

My DD is 13 and is on the waiting list for an Assessment via NHS, which is 12-18 months.

We cannot realistically wait that long.

Any recommendations of Private facilitators in the Shropshire area would be welcome

TIA

I can't help with Shropshire area, but a tip is to find out who your NHS outsources to and approach them - the assessment should then be robust and to accepted clinical standards. That's what I did. There was a still a waiting list but it was about 3 months rather than years.

@BoardLikeAMirror , can I please ask how you found out where the NHS outsource to? I am in the same boat as you @Sarahmumofthree3 (also a DD who is 13) ,I am also now looking privately. I wish you luck :)

I looked up diagnostic services in my area and checked if there was a referral process for NHS Right to Choose detailed on their websites @purplepandas

I'd recommend finding your local parent/peer support groups or charities. They usually have a FB presence, including invaluable closed groups. Other parents will know who is good locally for assessments. They may also be able to identify which consultants do NHS and private work. It's very hard for a private diagnosis to be rejected if the author is also employed by the local NHS.
