She has had significant difficulties since puberty. Diagnosed with dyslexia aged 8 and with ADHD at 19 and is now seeing an ADHD coach who has ADHD herself and two daughters one with ADHD and the other with autism. Her coach thinks dd has autism (as well as ADHD), my daughter also thinks she may have autism and certainly from what I have read it fits. She has had a couple of breakdowns, left university twice, is overwhelmed easily and can only (despite being intelligent and capable) manage a part time minimum wage job.
I would like to get her privately assessed but go somewhere where the diagnosis (if she is diagnosed) is credible within the NHS etc. Lorna Wing is obviously the gold standard but is only offering assessment to under 18's at the moment - even privately (which is perplexing, and also discriminates against girls who are often missed during childhood due to masking)
Can anyone advise a credible organisation offering autism assessment? We used ADHD360 for ADHD because they also have contracts with some district health authorities so are clearly considered suitable. Would like to use something similar for autism
Thanks
