Newly Diagnosed 22 year old DS

DS is 22 and has just had a private diagnosis of autism. He graduated Uni this year but was really struggling with being able to communicate and find a job and agreed that an assessment might be a good thing.

We are still awaiting the full report but I was wondering if anyone had any advice or pointers of what we do now? He is fine about the diagnosis (as far as we can tell). There doesn't seem to be very much available locally. The consultant said as much and google hasn't brought anything up either.

I guess we are looking for information on how best to support him (hopefully the report helps with that) and for things he can access that would help him socially and with with finding work etc. We just want him to be happy and ultimately to be able to support himself independently.

When you say that you're after things locally, what sort of things are you looking for @BigBoysDontCry?

Is it an ASD group for social events and information or specific things like support with CV writing and interview skills?

Thanks for replying @PritiPatelsMaker I'm not really sure to be honest, he could definitely benefit from some appropriate social groups and employment support. I suppose maybe some useful terms to use when googling would be a start? I don't get much coming up locally but maybe I'm looking for the wrong things? There is a website for autism for our area that in theory would have useful information but it's not up to date (2016 is the last thing I see). He is able to travel to different areas but anything we've found is then only for locals people (which is absolutely fair enough).

Maybe it's just all new so we need to chill until we get the full report and then see what we can do from there.
