What do you do when you can no longer cope?

Just that really. I don't think I can cope with DS's behaviour any more. Every morning is horrendous. He shouts and screams when I get him up and try to make him leave the house on time for school. Today I ended up hitting him as he just refused and so was 30 minutes late for school. He has just started a new school on a managed move and has to be on best behaviour. I've been driving him to school every morning but every day he refuses to get up which means his brother is late for school, I am late for work etc. I just can't do it any more and now I've lost the plot and ending up hitting him. Can I put him into care even just on a a temporary basis?

Does DS have an EHCP? Have you had social care assessments?

Found out last week the LA won't do an EHCP assessment. How do I get a social care assessment?

Appeal the EHCNA refusal. LAs often refuse, but the majority of appeals are upheld.

You can ask children’s services for an assessment for DS by the disabled children’s team. You also want a carer’s assessment from social care.
