Sleep and waking up

My son is 15 and has always had trouble sleeping, he was referred to the paed sleep clinic but they blamed it on screen time.
the main issue is morning waking, he is in such a deep sleep he sleeps thru any alarm, he is in attic room and I have to spend 30 mins running up 2 flights stairs. It’s really getting me down and is the cause of many arguments. It doesn’t help that school starts at 815 am
i am at my wits end , I also have a really painful knee and ankle and struggle with the stairs.

I'm afraid I have no easy solution as we have a similar problem with daughter (ADHd) although she tends to be able to go to sleep. She is dead to the world in the morning and has to be physically helped out of bed or she would never get up for school. I fear the worst when she leaves for university.

We have had some success with a sunrise alarm clock eg Lumie though there are cheaper ones as it means she is at least not in such deep sleep when we go to wake her up. But it doesn't actually get her out of bed.

Thanks for the reply, I feel like all still got a 5 yo with gobby teenage behaviour.
I have never known anyone sleep so deeply thru several alarms. I’ll look at lumie.
