Money worries with 16 year old

Ds is at college but attendance is very poor. If he leaves I will lose tax credits of £85 a week and child benefit. Currently waiting for a PIP assessment.
If PIP is refused I will have nothing left. My husband is in a low paid job and keeps the house going. The tax credits pay for DS activities and clothing. He gets through a lot of shoes and regularly rips/loses clothes. He can't be left unsupervised at home or have a key. He's a poor sleeper and although he goes up to his room at night, he is noisy and keeps me awake (singing, talking out loud etc) I'm juggling going to care for my mum and keeping an eye on DS. .
He's currently on high rate care/low rate mobility DLA but PIP is obviously very different.
Has anyone else been in this situation?.
Thankyou for reading
