Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on SN.

Private assessment for a young adult (22) Scotland

DS is 22 and just graduated University. There has always been some suspicion that he may be on the spectrum but also as many things that maybe don't fit. He was referred at age 11 but the practitioner at that point felt any assessment would be borderline and really put us off going for a full diagnosis. DS was doing ok at the time (he'd had a period of being bullied) and we followed the advice and didn't go ahead. I really regret this now and DS during his teen years resisted any suggestion of going back to the GP/CAMHs.

He is struggling really with finding a job, he is extremely socially anxious and struggles to speak with people and obviously this isn't helping him with confidence and the prospect of interviews etc is terrifying.

He would make an excellent employee (bright, honest, hard working, reliable etc) but he needs to get in somewhere first.

DH and I have suggested that it might be worth being properly assessed and that it may help him both emotionally and practically and he now seems really open to looking into this further.

I probably phrased all this badly, but what I am asking is if anyone has experience of going through an assessment as a young adult or of their own DC doing this and if anyone has any recommendations, preferable central belt Scotland.
