My 13 ds has autism and autism combined with being a teenager brings as you probably all know some added problems 🙈 One of the problems I'm currently trying to tackle is the fact that when I tell ds that his behaviour (this could be a variety of things, being cheeky, getting told of for not keeping his room tidy, "small" things like that) is not acceptable is that he will smirk or laugh. I have explained several times that that is not the way to behave and that it can make people more annoyed/angry with him. He says he doesn't know why he does it, I don't know if he genuinely can't help it because of his autism or if it's just a teenager being a teenager. Has anyone got any advice on how to deal with this? It sometimes only makes the situation worse....
