Looking for advice on non-traditional routes to gain final English GCSE/A levels. Does anyone have their child study in an online setting in the UK?

I am actually a teacher in Scotland where we I work for an organisation that offers online learning and exam preparation for young people who are unable to be in school- for reasons of anxiety, health or ASN. I've been approached by a friend in England looking for something similar, so trying to find any channels that might be of help.

TIA

If the child is compulsory school age and can’t attend school the LA have a duty to provide alternative education under s.19 of the Education Act 1996. This could be in various forms such as online, home tuition, hospital school, small group tuition at a centre, it depends on individual needs.

As long as the child is under 25 they should also apply for an EHCNA which can include more provision and support including online schooling.

There are several online providers Wolsey Hall, Tute, Interhigh, myonlineschooling, Cambridge home school, Academy21…

There is one called planet diversity which caters to additional support needs, offers functional skills in English and Maths. Not Gcse but may suit some young people as an alternative.

For people who want or don't mind a faith based provider, and want self study and tutor support but not live classes northstar world wide for igcses. They seem to be supportive to students with ASN.
