His behaviour at home has always been awful but there's a marked deterioration at school now. I have just been diagnosed with EDS, and he missive and POTS so this does increase risk of him being ND.

Please can someone point me in the direction of getting an assessment, I know we'll have to pay, and I'm also aware that not all will be accepted by NHS/school etc.

Thanks

It's actually pretty straightforward, in that you approach the centre you want, book in and join their waiting list (they do have lists but generally a lot shorter than the NHS).

It is worth asking questions about who will be carrying out the assessment and what it entails and that they use the same protocol as the NHS if you want it to be widely accepted.

Your sons school maybe able to advise on a place he can be privately assessed. I am yet to get a private assessment, however my child's school advised where I could get one, if I so wished (because the NHS is currently a 3 year waiting list) and it turns out that the doctor that does the private assessments also does them for the NHS.

Thank you. Our local SENDIASS group ribs a weekly drop in so will go there next week too before the meeting with school
