My 19 yo DD has her Limited Capacity for Work Related Activity assessment tomorrow. She gets the highest pip. She has learning disabilities so although looks fine and is mobile, is about 6 in her mental age. Will I get to stay with her for the whole assessment? Will I have to talk about her negatively in front of her ☹️ ? Any advice before tomorrow? Dreading it x

I’ve come back to answer my own questions just in case it’s helpful to others going through similar.
So the LCWRA assessment was about 35 mins long. The Assessor was not a doctor but he was very nice. He allowed me in and and understood that I don’t like to talk negatively in front of DD, so he just asked her 2 questions, a money question and a spelling question and then allowed her to go back to the waiting room with the Receptionist keeping an eye on her. He then asked a few more questions regarding capacity and long term prognosis, and that was it. 48 hours later and I’ve had the LCWRA agreed on the UC account.

Just to add, DD is still in education on a part time basis doing life skills.

Thanks for letting us know! That is really useful to know. I'm glad it went well.

That's useful information, thanks for coming back to the thread.

There is absolutely no way Ds could work at the moment and he does get enhanced PIP. But I'm pretty sure he could answer a money and spelling question. Ds doesn't have any learning disabilities and I have a feeling that despite his autism and other difficulties having a major impact on his life, they may assess him as capable to work.

Pleased that it went okay for you and Dd and that it wasn't too stressful.

LCWRA
I received my LCWRA letter on the 20th of June 2022 stating that I no longer have to look for work etc and qualify for LCWRA.
Do I have to wait 3 months from the 20th of June for first payment or is the 3 month period taken from my first submitted sick/fit note?
Any information will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

The 3 months assessment period begins when the first fit note was submitted. I did this right at the beginning of the claim. The face to face was in the first half of month 4 so the 4th payment she had was the higher amount.
I believe you can request payments to be backdated but not the first 3 months.
Hope that helps.

Am I getting fit notes mixed up with sick notes from the doctor or are they the same things?
So in that case would the 3 months start from I first sent in my first sick not/fit note/doctors line etc?
I got my LCWRA recognition letter on the 20th of June and my first sick note was over 4 months ago so should I be getting a payment if you know sooner or later ? Thank you so much for replying to me 👍👍
