My 15 year old daughter has been having issues for many years, she has been suspended from school countless times, seeks out risky activities, has a defensive attitude plus many other signs. The teachers at her school have been really supportive and have advised me to get her tested for ADHD.
Now that I have looked into all the characteristics of ADHD my daughter fits the bill to a tee.
I have heard that the NHS waiting list is extremely long so was wondering about going private for the initial assessment, please could someone advise if the gp takes over the prescription etc once a diagnosis is made, I don't think I will be able to afford the private prescriptions etc long term.
Also whilst I am going through the process is there anything I can buy over the counter to help. I've heard Omega 3 and Caffeine are beneficial?
Any recommendations and personal experiences related to this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
