Advice re finding 'childminding' for 14yo autistic boy

Hello, Have searched childcare.co.uk but no idea where else there is. My boyfriend has a 14yo autistic son who he has every second week and he is desperately trying to find help on a few days so that he can go to into work. He lives in Redcar. Any advice on what options he may have (if any!) would be really appreciated. If he can't sort this, he will lose his job. Thanks.

Have you tried care agencies?

Have DH and DSS had social care assessments? If not they should do and if he has and this is for a PA try contacting local schools to see if TAs want some extra hours and universities.

@AReallyUsefulEngine thank you for this. I'm not sure to be honest but I don't think so. The 50/50 arrangement is fairly recent. Not sure if they have or if his son has had a care assessment at his mums - can the son have 2 care assessments? I've actually posted the same question about childcare in the Childcare page which I only saw after I posted here. :)

The LA DSS is primarily resident in is the one responsible for the disabled children’s social care assessment, if that is a different LA to the one BF (sorry I realise I called him DH in my pp) lives there won’t be another. But DH can ask for a carer’s assessment in his own right.

Thank you - I'll let him know to give it a go. :)
