Smell of matches

My DS loves the smell of matches and finds it very calming, is there something that smells the same without the danger?

Which part of the match does he like the smell of? The head or the wooden stick section? You could try buying him some sulphur soap... I've never smelt it myself, but the match-head has sulphur in it so I imagine sulphur soap might smell similar?
