Hi, has anyone had any success with a present for a 20-year-old ASD man (boy?)?
He's young for his age but is at uni , he doesn't drink or have any hobbies or friends! He enjoys public transport and loves Chinese, Indian, and Thai food (but cooking stresses him out). I feel like 20 is a milestone, so don't want to get him socks, etc...

No experience, but I'd try and centre gifts along the lines of his favourite things.

Steam train trip, there are lots of local ones run by enthusiasts, or day trips on other special trains like Mallard etc.

Vouchers for free meals or takeaways from his favourite Chinese, Indian and Thai restaurants or a special meal at one of them for his birthday treat with you and other family of his choice that you'd pay for?

If he's not good with surprises, you could set a top spends limit and then let him browse some things you think he'd like to do beforehand, so he could be as calm as possible on the day itself.

Thanks for your response! I am looking up vouchers for restaurants now...We might have to do a bus or train trip at Christmastime.
