I don't want to leave you 'unanswered'

Would Contact 's 'Listening Ear' support line help ?

Or National Autistic Society are always very supportive.

Hi OP

School refusal is so common with ASD, the environment is just too overwhelming. Staying under the covers is a concern though, isolation, can eventually lead to depression as I learnt to my cost with my ASD son (now 16) The quicker you get him into some therapy or counselling the better. Make sure it is someone who specialises in ASD though, much of the manistream counselling methods needs adapting.
If school are supportive you might be able to agree a part-time timetable if you think it would help. I would get him to a GP too if you are concerned about mental health/anxiety as it might be possible to get him signed off school for a bit to avoid the consequences of absence.
