Thats it really..
Recorded delivery ..so I know it arrived.
I did ring up a week later as i thought i would have had a text or something to confirm it .
The lady told me , she did not have a number for him / me .

I sorted that .
Still have heard nothing about the phone assessment appointment.

Is this still within the time brackets ?
Thank you .

We are in a similar situation. Phoned to start the claim in October and sent the form back in December and have heard absolutely nothing about an assessment.

It's 24 weeks since we started the claim and 16 weeks since we sent the form in. Dh is appointee and phoned the DWP about 5 weeks ago to be told it was with ATOS for assessment and they still within the time brackets they should be. I did send lots of evidence but presumed some kind of assessment would still be necessary. They also said it would take 8-10 weeks after an assessment for us to receive a decision. So it will be a long time yet, I guess.

It does seem to be a long wait but I have no idea if that is normal or due to Covid.

@Punxsutawney
Thank you for your reply .
Yes ..i think we are almost identical with our dates !

I applied Oct 2020 .
Due to various things including the DWP , getting things wrong ...we were given extensions in our return date .

Seems like you are a month a head of us .
Glad to know x

See section 7 of www.gov.uk/government/statistics/personal-independence-payment-statistics-to-january-2021/personal-independence-payment-statistics-to-january-2021
Looking at average 19 weeks from submitting claim to receiving decision; 12 weeks from the assessment to decision.

We also had an extension to the return date as the DWP didn't send the forms out. They hadn't set up the record correctly for Ds and we had to chase up what was going on.

I do actually have a new medical report since the paperwork was submitted in December but was waiting for the assessment to see if they wanted it submitted. Ds is really anxious about any kind of assessment, but I think he's probably forgotten we've even applied at the moment!

Good luck, hope you hear soon. If we hear anything I will update this thread as it might help give an idea of realistic current timescales.

I knew it was a long process but not this long and looking at the figures in the link, Ds should definitely be assessed soon. I will get Dh to phone the DWP again this week, as they might be able to tell us something about the progress of the claim.

Great news bizzey. Ds still hasn't even been assessed. We started this claim in October. Dh is going to try and ring tomorrow. Not feeling hopeful.

Laughing at the Ferrari! Glad that he got it and it wasn't too stressful.
I'm just surprised that Ds has not even been assessed yet. I knew it would take a long while but I thought they might have actually got round to assessing him 7 months after we made the phonecall to start the claim.

I'm not sure I can face mandatory reconsideration, if they refuse it. We have so many other things going on at the moment.
