Parents of children/young adults in care homes

Hello, just wondered what parents of children/young adults with disabilities who are in care home/supported living facilities are doing over Christmas. We went into tier 4 yesterday and now sadly my son cannot come home for Xmas. The home have suggested he come for the day instead but are not able to help get him home. I shall get him home somehow even if I pay a fortune in taxis (not something I can actually afford but I’ll find a way). Just wondered what others were doing really.

Hi, my son lives in a separate tier 4 area to us, we had planned to have him home for a week at xmas.
To my relief we have been able to go ahead as planned on the basis that we are his support bubble.
Don't know if it makes a difference that he lives at a residential college rather than a care home or not as most of my sen mum friends have been restricted much more than us.
Anyway, he's here, much to his delight and we're lucky to have him....I'm bloody knackered though Grin

Was just coming here to see what arrangements others have. So far the company that manages the supported living has been very flexible but not sure now there is a lockdown. She came home for three days over Christmas
