Daughters friend has ADHD, advice to give my daughter?

My 13 year old daughter has a friend who has just been diagnosed with ADHD. There have been a lot of problems with their friendship which has resulted in my daughter distancing herself to avoid the daily 'drama' her friend brings but it all makes sense now. How best can I advise my daughter to deal with her friend in a more tolerant way; the social challenges still exist for her.

Girls tend to present as emotionally hyper - reactive. That is they go from 0 - 10 emotionally in about 10 seconds. It’s best not to get get drawn into arguments with them. Just say “I’m sorry you feel like that!” and stand back emotionally.

Self esteem tends to be poor, as they struggle so much with everything we can do easily - like self organisation, making friends, remembering appointments, etc. Don’t get critical about things like being forgetful as they can’t help it.

If they ask questions, keep answers short, before they lose attention.

If your DD arranges to meet the girl, tell her to send text reminders just before they are due to meet.
