Any good (available) films or tv programmes for teen beginning autism diagnosis?

DS (16) has just been referred by CAMHS. He hates reading, so I was wondering if there were any good Tv programmes or films about what it's like to be a teen with autism. Any ideas?

Ds is 15 and was diagnosed last year. He is very much in denial but a lot of people have suggested that there are some good vlogs and interesting information on Utube. Probably best that you view it first though.

I did get him a book but he hasn't read it. We found a great ASD youth group but he struggles with that. It's taking a while trying to get him to accept his diagnosis!

Good luck with the assessment process. It can take a long time but it's worth pursuing especially if his difficulties are having a significant impact on his life.

hi my kid loves the show atypical with the autistic main character sam to recommend it to them id recommend saying that maybe one of you friends recommended it so it doesn't seem like your pressuring them to much its a 12 or 15 rating so id recommend it but it is more adult

A second here for Atypical, my 13 yr old DD loves watching and helps her start conversations with me on how things are for her.
She was diagnosed about 2 years ago and recently herself started spending a lot of time on u tube at videos to relate to. She found one which resonated with her and has now been shared with her teachers to help them. Called ‘ Amazing Things Happen’

Atypical on Netflix or there’s some good videos/animations on YouTube called “amazing things happen”
