Sn DD and puberty

My DD is 9 but showing signs of early puberty. She has significant LD and some sensory processing issues. I asked about delaying puberty but have been told they won't do that. She's not dry at night yet and uses nappies. Does anyone know if they will work during periods? I'm considering period underwear during the day, as I think she'll struggle with the sensory aspect of pads and the sight of them used might panic her, and she definitely won't manage tampons (she won't understand). I don't know if period pants will they work if she's wet during the night? Just wondering if anyone has experience.

My DD2 has severe learning disabilities and is still wearing nappies. They work fine to cope with periods. I've not tried the period pants but that sounds like a good idea too.

I don’t know about period pants and being wet in the night.

My dd uses period pants, and they work well for her. She would struggle to be independent using pads (can’t place them accurately), so the pants give her the dignity and privacy she wants. She changes them during the day, according to a schedule, as I’m not sure she would be able to tell when they needed changing otherwise. (Clean pair in the morning, then lunchtime, then in the evening to wear overnight).

My friends dd just uses the tena pants, copes with periods fine. She's not dry during the day either so it's less of an issue. She took medication from 8 until 12 to delay puberty but came off it a few months back. She has no independence and so her situation is different to many- her specialist is determining whether she should have her ability to conceive removed because she isn't capable of consent, a tricky one but if she goes into residential care she is at risk from more able residents
