Hi,
My son is nearly 18. He has been NEET since 'officially' leaving school in the summer of 2017. However, he had not attended school on a substantial basis since Y9, due to anxiety issues.
He went for an interview about a week ago and, although he was not successful, members of the panel put him in touch with a training agency.
He met with a man from the training agency and now seems to be part of a Youth Employment Intervention which offers 1:1 support for job hunting and through which his mentor will contact potential employers with respect to finding apprenticeships.
The service seems to be ticking all the right boxes, but I am just worried that they may be promising more than they can deliver.
Does anyone else have experience of training agencies with respect to SEN young people?
My son has SEMH issues.
