ASD and demand avoidance: anyone else out there?

Our DD is 18 and was diagnosed with ASD five years ago. We have good clinical-type support but feel v alone with it day to day sometimes because no-one really understands. We're very wary of ASD support groups because DD seems so untypical. Yes there is the usual ASD stuff of not getting social rules, signals etc, but the two most dominant features are demand avoidance and omnipotence, (dropped out of school, can't hang on to even a shitty waitressing job for more than a couple of months - but is supremely unbothered and is convinced she will mysteriously succeed in making lots of money soon). But she utterly rejects the ASD diagnosis and always has: says her problem with school was ADHD (it isn't). Not looking for answers for how to manage her - there aren't - but is there anyone out there that has anything remotely similar?
