Hello,
My eldest son will be having a Continuing Healthcare Assessment on Tuesday. He currently lives in a supported therapeutic residential setting and the residential provision has asked for more funding to support his needs.
I have previewed the forms and assessment criteria and feel that the assessment may not take into account his fluctuating needs. He is stable and doing quite well now (engaging in some community and voluntary activities) but this is largely because the setting and extra support is helping him to cope.
Has anyone any experience of CHAs and, if so, how can I prepare myself and my son (I will be present at the assessment).
My son has Autism and complex mental health needs.
Thank you.
