son with adhd

Hi all I'm new on here looking for advice. My second son,nearly 14 has adhd and I feel as if I'm the worst parent out there. He said he's leaving school when he's 16 and moving out cause he hates the way I don't let him have much freedom,like running the streets with his pals to all times.I do keep him on a short leash as I'm terrified he'll get in with the wrong crowd and get into all sorts of trouble. I basically told him tonigh to go do what he wanted as I'd had enough,he's not even that bad,it's just all this teenager attitude,I hate how he pushes my buttons,I'm normally calm.but tonight I just had enough.

It's difficult to get the balance right. Could you work out a compromise, perhaps have his mates over and let them hang out in your house? He'd get his social life but you'd know where he is.

It might be better if you can talk about meeting half way rather than arguing about it.

I know how hard it is though - teenage hormones and ADHD are a crap mix
