First time poster so please be gentle.
I have worked with someone with mild autism for 15 years and built up a great rapport with him and this has helped me to decided to become a full time carer myself.
I am about to start shadowing as a PA carer. When I get the job, I will be working with various clients from young to old.
What I'd like to ask is how to break the ice with new clients with special needs. Once I get started, theres no shutting me up. It's just the initial meeting I'm a little worried about.
I want to impress the PA who I will be shadowing so any hints and tips would be welcome.
