my 17yr old dd has been diagnosed with aspergers and asd, ptsd, and apd because of her conditions she gets home tutor 6hrs a week,as this is all that the lea can offer, due to her only getting 6hrs my family allowance stopped....this means all benefits stop appart from carers. i keep getting told by benefit agency i can live in £53 a week.I am so tired i have been asking social services for respite care for a year now all i get told is she's your dd get on with it.i have told them all i want is a couple of hrs once a month. i just get laughed at and judged.is anyone else in this sittuation? because i feel so alone

HI, i think you should post on the main SN board and you will hopefully get more replies from someone who can advise you better, my DS 17 ASD but at college through years of fighting LA ans SS, you should also be getting income support for yourself as well as your carers allowance, if you are getting no joy from SS you will have to kick up a fuss and go over their head, is there a carers centre near you which can advise on benefits ? im not sure about the ins and out of home tutering but i DO know what you mean about being judged, sorry i could not be of more help but if you post on the main SN board im sure someone will give you tha advice you need, if you need to talk to some one give me a shout because i know exactly where you are coming from.
