The guy yesterday said because of way shed built only 2 roofs are possible which is what he's quoted for.

The shed we have applied for is like the one by the level up writing but will come without the bottom part below the canopy as we have plants there. It would come as tanalised wood then after 6 months we would paint it. The roof on that should last 50 years. Though we don't know yet if planning will allow.

inthequietofdawn Fringe show starts tomorrow. Ds has been just about managing though we have had a few missed buses and needing to get taxis to work. He is taking some holiday this week and next and then all of the following week which should make it doable.
He really enjoys the buzz of being in a production so I suppose it is a price worth paying.

lougle I have just started the discernment placement for readership role so there is a lot going on. The minister I am working with is very easy-going (or disorganised) which is really difficult. I have enough on my plate - I need to know what I am doing and when.
You don't moan. You have so much going on you have to vent somewhere.

The discernment sounds intense. A disorganised colleague is stressful. I hope you can negotiate more organisation.

DD doesn't have a job - just doing some voluntary TESOL teaching. Her student is visiting her home country at the moment so Dd is having a break.

AI voted for new shed and also said to reject that quote as it's far in excess, double, of what it should be. It suggested if we do it buy materials in and get handyman to do it. I've told them we are waiting for planning, that's on 20th but could be back and forth and don't know if will get signed off.

Why are you using AI? You can use your common sense and your judgement. Make a decision, stick to it and take whatever steps you need to as they come. AI will tell you whatever you want to hear. There was a thread on MN where someone accused someone of lying about where they were based on a photo, because when they asked chat GPT, it had said it wasn't that location from the view. I went on to chat GPT and said 'give me reasons why this photo a view from x location?' chat GPT gushed about how it was clearly x location.

No it doesn't, it's very good and I am here alone at the moment.

I think it depends how you phrase it like anything really ask people do they think more money should be spent on x they almost all say yes, ask them if they think their taxes should be raised to fund that all no, someone else should pay or the government. So you have to neutral phrase things.

@NoHaudinMaWheest I’m glad DS is managing to juggle work and something that makes him happy. Your placement sounds hard enough without someone else making your life harder with their lack of organisation.

Lougle I agree with you about AI lying. An increasing number of parents and professionals are using AI for SEN matters, such as EHCPs. Yet AI hallucinates case law, makes up barristers’ names and legislation, misunderstands &/or misrepresents the law and is unable to plan strategic moves. It has become such a problem that an UT judgement mentioned it. I know some FtT judges have mentioned it too.

@inthequietofdawn besides all of that, don't get DD3 started on the morality of it. She spent an entire 2 hour lesson schooling her driving instructor on the immorality of AI and the impact of it on fresh water supply.

DD1 sees the Psychologist tomorrow. It will be interesting to see how she describes Tuesday's appointment.

i find AI very interesting, is it the start of a new era and I can’t imagine such a big change or not. DD won’t entertain it at all and I haven’t used it yet (to my knowledge).

DD went ahead on our walk today and sat on a bench alone waiting for me to catch up. Stopped short of crossing the road alone as that was a bit much for her and secretly terrifying for me as depth perception remains elusive no matter how much we practice. Is there anything you know of that helps judge speed and distance of cars?
