did early bird about 5/6 years ago now, dont know if its different from early bird plus.

I would defo recomend it it will start to give you a glimpse in there mind and put things in to place that i still use now like the iceberg theory.

I did earlybird plus last year, and found some things really helpful some less, but the main thing is make sure your school send a TA/teacher (the course is designed around both home and school attending) because the chance to discuss your ds with them will be invaluable. Also it is great to be in the same room with parents who don't think you're wierd/complaining all the time/know what you're going through.

And as saintmom says the key to parenting a child with autism is understanding, understanding, and more understanding. Anything that helps is worth doing.

Really enjoyed it, picked up loads of useful tips and got lots of good resources from the facilitators.

I thought I knew lots about autism but it was the practical info and anecdotal stuff that was really invaluable.
It would be great if you could get someone to go from school but it's still worthwhile going even if you can't.

Can't recommend it enough!!

Did earlybird 4 years ago. Found a lot of information given in a short time. Eg. they talked about Hanen's More Than Words but I did not actually give it much thought till later. Good for making contacts though. Also we got on a course within 2 months of dx. so was very useful for talking about something so new to us.

I found EB+ fantastic, mainly because it helped focus my mind on understanding exactly what autism was and I met a lovely group of ASD parents...
