Education planning meeting - what can I expect?.

Dd (12) is in year 8 and was dx with AS about 6 weeks ago. Her school received a copy of this and I requested a meeting to discuss next steps. I was told there's no point in meeting until they had heard back from EIS.

The background is that she is on about 45 per cent attendance. The clinical psychologist said she was unable to attend school as she did not have the coping mechanisms. He also said there was no need to consider alternative settings and recommended a home tutor.

Now I understand sh's only entitled to 5 hours per week. Surely this isn't enough?

I have applied for a SA.

Also what would her school be able to suggest to help? I'm just trying to get my head around this as I know a meeting will probably be arranged at short notice. What should I be prepared for?

I know this post is confused and rambling, but it reflects my frame of mind.

Thank you, tribunalgoer. I will keep repeating it like a mantra, "she is entitled...she is entitled...".
