were having a nightmare getting anyone to recommend us one in writing so that we can approach charities for funding. we had windmill out yesterday to give us a quote for their one. ds currently has a crelling 28asb but can escape that. problem is fixing in boot as a one off is fine but access to boot is not possible to do it every time he goes out in car as its just too deep and involves me literally climbing in!! ds cant sit in front as even in a harness he would be able to reach gears etc and doesnt have understanding not to. he is 4 but size is more like age 6/7ish. we dont have ot anymore and they wont see us on basis of just needing help to keep him safe in car - bloody pathetic as surely its crucial he is safe in car when i need it to transport him places! we are struggling for money as it is and cant afford another harness - we bought the one we have now but its now useless really! charities will only fund it seems with a letter of support from a professional which we dont have as noone will support us as "its not their job" or "if he had an accident in it i would be responsible" were hoping to find a charity that will fund with no recommendation but got to decide on a harness. windmill one is good but im so worried that if there was an accident and someone tried to get ds out they wouldnt be able to due to needing the seatbelt cutter which they might not be able to get to due to crash or something or using the magnet which poses same issues! i know that it has to be hard to get open so ds cant but its just so hard knowing that also by choosing that i could be putting him in a position where having that on could be a life or death situation so i really dont know what to do! the other crelling ones to me look like ds will get out of them, or too difficult to get him strapped into due to way they fasten to seat! the steel buckles crelling do ds can open. social services are not much help they sent the windmill man but said either way all they would do was write a letter saying ds is not presently safe in the car ive been saying this for months and not sure their letter will be any use as its hardly a recommendation is it!!! so i dunno, waiting for letter at moment so will see what it says!! windmill one recommended with the buckle guard he would need, and seatbelt cutter, and delivery etc in total would be £450ish so im thinking with no proper letter its no wonder a lot of charities will say no!!

sorry for moaning on, anyone use anything other than crelling or windmill?? anyone know anything i can use to make social servies or the social services ot help??

thanks in advance to anyone who might have any words of wisdom!?

In car safety do a buckle guard, could you try that?

he lifts himself out of car harness though or out of just the seatbelt so its kind of finding something that keeps him in seat but also a buckle guard for the legal aspect of keeping seatbelt on lol nightmare!!
