SN children

Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on special needs.

Doesn't seem fair.

The BBC are going into my sons nursery to do story time with the older children. My son isn't able to take part because of his speech and language delay as they only want children that are very able to communicate. There are others like ds who are also left out. I wasn't really bothered if he were doing it or not until I knew why :-(

Who made the decision?

Write to them to clarify their reasons. i.e. just to clarify, my ds can't attend the BBC storytime because of his speech and language delay, is that right?

It's blatant discrimination: the producers and the school should not be doing this.

I'd get on your high horse if I were you!

Write to a noisy newspaper, its disgusting - whats the point of having non discriminatory programs like 'something special' when you discriminate like this

DDA springs to mind. Just mention it, and I am sure you will find a spot just right for your DS on the front row that was there all the time, and you just misunderstood!

Rather than contacting a newspaper, and antagonising people, you might be better taking the "desperately disappointed in the lack of inclusion" route?

The nursery should have realised that speech and language delay is not the same as not being able to communicate!!!!

Let us know what happens.
