Rheged? Don't know how old he is but there is park & soft play & if he likes cinema they have a huge screen.nice food there too.

There is a farm thing near Penrith too can't remember it's name though.

nymphadora · 17/06/2010 18:53

What's he into?

meerkatsandkookaburras · 17/06/2010 19:08

he loves anything not too busy and with animals/trees etc, trains, running around making a mess!!!! but he hates parks, soft plays and anywhere too busy and stressful, im taking him on my own too so need to fill loads of time or ill go mad!!!!

Trotters world? Not sure how far it will be from where you are staying though. We took DC there, DS2 has autism, and he quite enjoyed it.

wow trotters world looks fantastic will investigate how far to it but looks worth the travel as ds would love it!! thanks

Its very secure as well, children can't escape as they have to leave through an electric gate in the it shop. Always a bonus if you have a runner like me

meerkatsandkookaburras · 17/06/2010 19:19

ha ha yeah ds is a runner!!!

eden ostrich world near penrith- would be my preference over trotters as there is more open space and more activities 'to do'

walby farm park near carlisle(has fantastic indoor slides-quite big)

l'al ratty train (i think near eskdale?)lovely day out for any little one that likes trains-lovely views and nice walks(if you can cope with that!)

if it's a nice(hot, sunny) day bitts park in carlisle has a nice park with a great water feature but remember to take towel and spare clothes, it also has crazy golf and a little cafe that you can get ice cream and drinks from although it is only a 5 min walk into the town centre. If you are here during the week when the children are at school it will be fine but is very busy at the weekend when it's hot and sunny
