Im hoping i will be doing this tomorrow.

What do you think i should include? apart from the Head could do with learning a few social skills herself.

Here's hoping! Try not too sound too bitter. I personally would state how disappointed you have been by their inability to deal with your sons special needs and their dealings with you. No need to make it long as you have all those complaints letters to write too!

StarOfValkyrie · 16/06/2010 16:11

I KNEW this was you.

How about just the two most significant words!?

'Fuck off!'

I seriously doubt they would understand anything else, so not worth the ink.

Alternatively you can send them a consent form for whether they'd like their full names or just first names to be included in the national newpaper article you have been commissioned to write about your experience with them.

claw3 · 16/06/2010 16:29

You have taught me well Star, this letter is not for their benefit, its for the benefit of the LA.

Although i much prefer the fuck off, could i add a right to that, sounds much more meaningful, fuck right off?

OP posts:
MiladyDeScorchio · 16/06/2010 16:48

You could always tell them to fuck right off and when they get there to fuck right off again?

Mumsnet has taught me so much...

Ah yes, - boring as it is, document how apallingly they have let your ds down...........

What a shame. 'Fuck off' would have been apt!

claw3 · 16/06/2010 17:05

Milady, how about fuck right off you fuckwit and when they get there fuck right off again please? (Do you think the 'please' is a bit too much)

Riven, hopefully he will have a school place, have an interview tomorrow, but im thinking he will probably not be able to start until Sept, so was going to home ed until then.

I dont know the first thing about home ed, do LA provide any resources or do you do your own thing?

Star, i will go back to drop of his books in his book bag, perhaps i could whisper it to the Head, so no one hears but her!

OP posts:
silverfrog · 16/06/2010 17:09

oooh, really go to town on how disappointed oyu are that it has come to this. saddened by the fact that they have so grossly misunderstood your ds. how you are not prepared to leave your ds in distress any longer, you have given them enough time ot sort out help, and enough examples of the type of help he needs, and you are now, sadly, having ot face the conclusion that they do not appear to want ot help at all, as evidenced by... blah blah

I wrote a blistering one to dd1's last school - was so cathartic. head of school couldn't look me in the face for 2 days, then on the third day (dd1's last day there!) finally managed a muttered "we got your email. I am glad you feel you have found a suitabel school for dd1" - still not lookin gme in the eye!

claw3 · 16/06/2010 17:32

Silver, good for you. Usually letters a chore, but i will take get pleasure in this letter.

Head teacher hasnt been able to look me in the eye since ive known her, this progressed to dirty looks, then not even acknowledging i was there in the same room, then pointing at me, rather than referring to me by name.

Why do they take constructive criticism so personally?

If someone complained about me and was constructive, rather than just moaning, i would be looking at my procedures to see if maybe, just maybe, they were right!

OP posts:
StarOfValkyrie · 16/06/2010 17:33

Sure claw if you get a roll on will you write the rest of my case statement?

StarOfValkyrie · 16/06/2010 17:36

'If someone complained about me and was constructive, rather than just moaning, i would be looking at my procedures to see if maybe, just maybe, they were right!'

Only if you were good at your job and always keen to do better. Not if you were an insecure lazyarse who never really should have got the job in the first place and lied at interview!

silverfrog · 16/06/2010 17:39

add in total failure in communication, and refusal to even acknowledge your presence (as demonstrated in recent meeting with other professionals), making it impossible\for you to have a\working relationship with the school

SanctiMoanyArse · 16/06/2010 17:51

Claw I am so glad this is your thread and you are leaving that awful school.

Good luck!

And just remember- the Head will get karma one day

IIRC it's standard to type

fuck right off you fucking fuckwits and when there fuck right off again to fucking fuckwitetry land, taking your fuckheaded fuckingness with you.

Is that about right? Does it convey the whole point?

debs40 · 16/06/2010 18:28

Lots of 'deeply disappointed's and comments about professionals not informing themselves about conditions such as ASD, thus leaving vulnerable children at risk.

Look at the government stuff on safeguarding. Safeguarding is a BIG issue for schools - try and tie it in with that and a breach of duty of care and the duty to be in loco parentis, duties under SENCOP and DDa.

Keep it cool, calm and legalish! That'll hit them where it hurts

Copy to LA obv!

SmellyBill · 16/06/2010 18:48

I hope you don't mind CLaw but I've read some of your posts but not replied as no advice to offer.

I would like to put forward a little ditty

it is to the tune of Gloria Gaynor's I will survive

"At first I was refrained, I was dignified
I tried oh so many times to get you on our side,
but then you spent so much time just trying to prove me wrong
I grew strong
I decided it was time to move on

Yes, that's right,
I've found a new school
Did you really think we'd stick around trying to play by your rule?
You can stick your IEP, you can stick your happy card sign
you can stick them right where the sun doesn't shine

I will survive
I will survive
As I know how to make sure my son will thrive
I tried for far too long
to make it it all work
but I was wrong, cos you are a massive jerk

As for
the teacher of the class
she wouldn't know ASD if it bit her on the arse
your SENCo is insane
but as Head you are the most to blame
It's plain to see
and not just to me

Parent Partnership
are onto you
oh and Autism Outreach too
It won't be long until the EP follows suit
I expect your arse will meet with the boot
I can't say I will cry
or call around to say bye

I will survive
I will survive
As I know how to make sure my son will thrive
I tried for far too long
to make it it all work
but I was wrong, cos you are a massive jerk"

silverfrog · 16/06/2010 18:54

brilliant, smellybill

SanctiMoanyArse · 16/06/2010 18:59

That's fab

debs40 · 16/06/2010 19:05

Wow! We oughtta write a book with the talent on this site you know!

claw3 · 16/06/2010 19:09

Sancti - fucking right, it covers the point

Smelly - ha ha! perfect i wont write them a letter, i will sing that to them!

Debs - i have copies of SEN COP and DDA, where would i find safeguarding? (i have tried googling)

OP posts:
debs40 · 16/06/2010 19:21

Try:
www.dcsf.gov.uk/everychildmatters/safeguardingandsocialcare/safeguardingchildren/safegu arding/

There are a few relevant links but in particular scroll down to:

Safeguarding disabled children: Practice guidance (July 2009)

It says it is aimed at 'local safeguarding children board (LSCB) partners and other professionals working with children and young people and their families.'

It has some pretty direct wording in it about the human rights of disabled children

StarOfValkyrie · 16/06/2010 19:37

Heck Claw, give us a time and a date and we'll all come along and sing to them. That should definately get the press interested......

Anyone play anything/own an amplifier?

StarOfValkyrie · 16/06/2010 19:38

Fab smelly! [grin

claw3 · 16/06/2010 19:40

Thanks very much Debs.

Star, you wont need an amplifier with my gob!

OP posts:
SmellyBill · 16/06/2010 19:57

Thanks - glad you didn't take offence Claw cos it must have pushed you to the limit dealing with them. "I was refrained" makes no sense does it . I will put 3 points on my poetic licence but will work on it in time for the MN-SN book

StarOfValkyrie · 16/06/2010 20:06

I like 'I was refrained' personally!

Don't see why if the 'experts' can make up technical language wrt their areas of expertise, we can't!?
