Following on from the serious thread, thought I'd start a jest thread (yes, I am supposed to be still writing the case statement). Any ideas?

Ah well. Just entertain myself then.

  1. You can't catch disabilities, so it is okay to occassionally touch a child with SN.

when they are crying, they are probably upset.

so we may occassionally hug the child.

is that even allowed?

I thought this was going to be about dummies as in soothers!

LOL Star I was going to put in my OP, "but feel free to say anything because it's a good opportunity for a laugh and we need those"

MiladyDeScorchio · 15/06/2010 14:54

Hmm... well yes we do "all" have problems with waiting for things Except we don't really. We can see the flipping point of it from a very young age if we are NT.

And I don't cry real hot tears because I can't be served first in a shop so I can be on my way. Neither do you. So how about calling a child with ASD into pre-school as soon as you see him instead of watching him get increasingly distressed?

If I'm crawling on the floor or falling over nothing. It means I'm having a bad day , I'm not being clumsy and I'm not playing and pleSe get me in my wheelchair because I won't ask and means mum be up all night with me screaming in pain

donkeyderby · 15/06/2010 15:47

Contrary to popular belief, children with SN are human beings and have the same rights and needs as other human beings

StarOfValkyrie · 15/06/2010 15:57

early intervention does not mean a team around the child meeting to establish a 2 year programme of 'waiting and seeing'!

LOL Riven

Having autism does not mean you are emotionally void.

And visual timetables are actually for staff, to make sure they remember to do the specific activities they say they are!

Preschool Staff: When a child has never spoken to the staff in the term they have been there, and after a 6 week holiday and a move to a new premises, taking the child's own toy back from them because they won't say "thank you" is not appropriate action. Gleefully retelling the story to "mum" will also make you look churlish. Also note that "mum" will judge you and remove her PFB immediately.

Just because I can't talk foes not mean I have nothing to say and in same vein don't presume I can't understand you
