my daughter was assessed for what we thought was dylexia and just had senco contact to the school to say they think its dypraxia. now could this explain she has loads of fears like the dark, loud noises smoke alarms, thunder anything sudden. she gets stressed if she cant do anything or undestand anything but only educational wise as very bright, we cant talk in code any more lol. my ds is 8 her maths level is age 5 english 6. she is the oldest in year as 9 in oct. she has muscle weakness in ankle and bladder, the bladder is under a consultant but never have looked into ankle to much becuase i thought it was attention seeking a little. does this make sense or i am looking far to much into things

Hi im trying to get dianosis of dyspraxia but my dd is 4.2 and they say she is to young as yet they seem to leave it untill they are older. My daughter is delayed in a lot of things and has def got oral dyspraxia. The things you have mentioned sound a bit like they could go with it my dd has week ankles as she has hypotonia. Did you notice any other things when your dd was younger like reaching her milestones late?

Angel- she sounds similar to my dd1, dd1 has a dx of Aspergers but i think she has dyspraxia, she has week ankles and low muscle tone. I think its worth looking into.

we have been fighting for dylexia since she was 5 but we had to wait til she was at least 7. her teacher noticed it to who was new a few months ago so god to get some back up. she hit her mile stones but had lots of major temper tantrums to the point the health visitor told us we were not contorlling them porperly and making her worse. then he tried a few times to sort her out and agreed she had a major prob and thought it was cus she was bright and out her into nursery at 2 instead of 2 aand 9mths it worked eventually. we only get stroppy when she cant do school work now or in bi groups she doesnt know

Oh yes we are having lots of tantrums now, but think a lot of ours are due to not always getting things right when shes tried to tell us something.Glad youve got a good teacher now that takes notice that helps a lot Good luck Iv now been told by dh and ds to get off the computer

we get the report tomoro for dd. we are to take the report home read it then arrange a app with the school and senco to see how we can help dd. ooooo so scared of what it will say. if it says she hasnt got anything then why is she the way she is, and if iit says she has how can we help her move forward. wish me luck

oh my , i am so glad i pushed, my dd has slight dysexis and mainly dyspraxia. i was so right all along. next step a meeting with the school. she got such a low score on non verbal work but on verbal she was ok. she has a short memory spam, spellings and writing were really bad. rhyming she could only do the really easy words. a big relief but just hope we can nip this in the bud. not sure what school going to do, the report was very heavy worded which i found hard to understand so will know more when i meet up,

she is now on the special needs register so there is no excuses from the school now. they have to listen and help. i feel relieved its kinda over . the school are running a special course n sept taking the children that are struggling back to basics and teach them slower so i might actually have a child that will take some info in and learn some stuff. we were walking to school Today and she managed to rhyme words with at but not in or hot. well the only way is forward now .....

Good news Angel. (Well you know what I mean - not good news that she has dyspraxia, but good news that you got a dx)

But unfortunately being on the special needs register doesn't mean they will help. Well done for fighting and getting this far. Just don't expect to be able to give up fighting now.

All the best
